Welcome to January 2016, EVERYBODY! I am so excited to get started! This shall be a year of changes, and progress.
First Big Change! (Drumroll)....... I'm getting my equity card!
I've been working for the past 5 years to carve a place for myself in this wonderful Bay Area Theatrical Community. Through that time I've learned a lot, lived a lot, added countless miles on my odometer, and made countless more amazing friends and colleagues. I Joined the Equity Membership Candidacy Program with 42nd Street Moon in San Francisco doing the forgotten musical "Carmelina". I have since worked at several other respected Equity Houses (Including the San Jose Stage, and Center Rep in Walnut Creek) and have accrued over 50 working weeks with these companies. Those weeks led me to the completion of the EMC program, and in April I will be receiving my first Equity Contract in Center Rep’s “ROCK OF AGES!”
I am so “over the moon” excited about the process that awaits me once we start rehearsals, and what opportunities lie before me. But, more about that later…
Before I can start ROCKING on the sunset strip, I first must travel to 1930’s Budapest, in Foothill Music Theatre’s “She Loves Me”. I will be Playing Georg Nowack in the classic musical about two antagonistic clerks who do not know they have been falling in love with each other through a Lonely Hearts Club. The musical is based off of a play by Miklós László that was then adapted several times for the stage (“Parfumerie”, and this musical “She Love Me”), and for film (“The Shop Around the Corner”, “In the Good Old Summertime”, and “You’ve Got Mail” ). We are in rehearsals now, and I can’t wait to show off the work I’ve been doing with the amazing Melissa Carey (Director), Dolores Duran-Cefalu (Music Director), and Jessica Whitmore (The leading lady in this tale). And as a bonus, I get to play this amazing role in an area I rarely get to work in! So get ready Peninsula! We open February 18!
